DBT of TOWSON is now conducting group virtually via Zoom. We are accepting new clients. Contact us
In order to join the group, we conduct two 50-minute assessments to gather history, coordinate with other treatment providers, and begin to orient you to the DBT process. Please note that members of our Skills Training Group are required to also be attending weekly, individual therapy in addition to attending the weekly group. Members may continue with their current therapists or discuss working with one of our therapists. The assessment process cannot begin without already having an individual therapist relationship.

Research: Behavioral Tech, LLC, founded by Marsha Linehan, is the original DBT training program. They are the leaders in providing DBT training for providers as well as research in documenting the effectiveness of DBT across various populations
We offer a few different options for your client/patient:
1. Your client attends DBT Skills Group Only:
You stay on as the primary therapist and your client attends our DBT Skillful Living Group. We will collaborate with you to target the needs of your client.
2. Your client attends DBT Skills Group and receives individual skills coaching, while you stay on as the primary therapist.
Skills coaching sessions are utilized to support skill acquisition and generalization. Sometimes clients need a little extra support.
3. Your client is in need of both Skillful Living Group and Individual DBT therapy.
We currently have waitlist for this service. Please contact us. We have developed close relationships with some great DBT providers in the area and would be happy to provide you with a list of potential referrals!
You can support your DBT client by purchasing DBT Skills Training Manual and Worksheets, by Marsha Linehan and reviewing skills in weekly therapy sessions. Your client will be learning skills from this book and be assigned homework each week to reinforce skill acquisition and generalization. Reviewing group material and The Diary Card in individual therapy will help to reinforce skills.
